Construction on Austin Community College District's (ACC) Highland Campus reached another milestone this week.

On Wednesday, July 15, ACC’s Facilities and Construction team and project crews added the college's name to the external-facing wall of the new Highland Campus South Parking Garage.

The letters spell out ACC Highland on the seventh level of the southeast end of the garage. Each letter is about eight feet tall and will look Riverbat purple during the day. At night the letters will light up white. The electrical is expected to be connected over the next week.

It took more than eight hours to raise the letters from flatbed trailers with a crane. They were securely bolted to the building on July 16.

The parking garage serves as the branding for Highland Campus, visible to people on Interstate 35, Highway 290, and areas to the east and southeast of the campus.

A virtual event to celebrate the many Highland project milestones is being planned.
