The Austin Community College District's Board of Trustees was one of only four colleges selected to receive the Phi Theta Kappa 2020 Board of Trustees Excellence Award. This award recognizes distinguished community college Boards of Trustees for their leadership and outstanding commitment to student success. The award honors ACC's Board of Trustee members' for supporting projects and events that encourage leadership among students.

Dr. Rodney E. Rohde, ACC Biology adjunct professor and Texas State University Translational Health Research Initiative associate director, has been featured in The Pathologist Magazine's Power List 2020 which recognizes inspirational individuals in the field from around the world. Rohde is one of just 20 people named in the Lab Heroes category for his role in bringing together academics and laboratory scientists to create innovative training and research opportunities.

Dr. Nina Almasy, ACC Professional Nursing department chair, has been invited to join the board of directors for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN). OADN is a national organization devoted to the advancement of Associate Degree Nursing education and practice through collaboration with a diverse and national group of stakeholders, and facilitating evidence-based practices in nursing education and academic progression. Almasy is also a member of the Texas Board of Nursing.
