Need money for college? Austin Community College District (ACC) can help you find it. The college hosts a series of workshops each month through summer to share information about financial aid options and resources.
“Most students qualify for some form of financial assistance,” says Jason Briseno, executive director of Student Assistance. “We’re here to help them explore their options and get started on the process.”
Participants can receive support with their ACC admissions and financial aid applications and get ready to enroll for classes this summer or fall. All sessions are held online.
Saturday, June 26
Saturday, July 17
Saturday, August 7
The series features custom workshops designed for prospective, new, and current students. Guests will hear from current students, learn about ACC programs, and receive help applying to ACC.
· Becoming a Riverbat Workshop | 10 a.m. - Noon
Designed for future and new students! Learn all about paying for college using grants, scholarships, and loans. Guests will hear about ACC’s 10 Areas of Study and how to complete the ACC application. This event features an ACC student panel who will share their experiences and advice for future students. After the presentation, attendees can get 1-on-1 support to get their application started or completed.
· Crossing the Financial Aid Finish Line Workshop | 2 - 4 p.m.
Current ACC students can attend this session to get their financial aid questions answered, receive help with the FAFSA (or TASFA), or complete missing documents. We’ll also explore more ways to save money at ACC and throughout the community.
