International Students

Start your global journey at Austin Community College!

Spring 2020: ACC has been monitoring the SEVP changes in 2020 and can confirm that F-1 students who are already in the U.S. will be allowed to continue taking classes online, hybrid, face-to-face or any combination of these. As an F-1 student in the U.S. you will continue to meet your student visa eligibility requirements by enrolling full-time in at least 12 credit hours.  All of the International Student office staff contact information can be found below.

COVID-19 Updates

The global situation is constantly evolving and ACC will inform all prospective students of changes as they develop. The current global situation has suspended the issuance of student visas; updates can be found on the International FAQs here.

Due to the current immigration guidance, Nonimmigrant students in New or Initial status after March 9 will not be able to enter the United States to enroll in a U.S. school as a nonimmigrant student to pursue a full course of study that is 100 percent online.

Until there is updated immigration guidance, we will automatically be deferring all Form I-20s for accepted F-1 new initial students to the next available semester. You should not attempt to enter the U.S. once your Form I-20 has been deferred, until you have received an updated Form I-20. This rule does not apply to Transfer F-1 students who are transferring their Form I-20 to ACC.

International students should contact the International Student Office if you are considering traveling outside or have questions on returning to the United States. All updates will be posted on the Austin Community College webpage.
