Overview/Background
The Austin Community College District Board of Trustees has initiated a national search for President/CEO. It has engaged the firm of Gold Hill Associates and also will utilize a large Presidential Search Advisory Committee, consisting of internal and external constituencies, to assist in the search process.
Dr. Stephen B. Kinslow shared with the Board of Trustees in 2009, and publicly announced in 2010, that he did not seek an extension of his contract and intends to retire at the end of his current contract (June 2011). The Board of Trustees and Dr. Kinslow have amended the language of his contract so that he will remain longer if the Board extends the search time line or if a candidate accepts the position but is unable to assume office in June 2011 - the intent of this is to avoid any interim appointments and to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
Dr. Kinslow has twice served as Interim President of ACC and as President since 2005, and will conclude 34 years of service to ACC upon his retirement. |
