About ACC

Building Brighter Futures

More than 74,000 students rely on ACC for their education every year. With 80% of ACC graduates staying in Texas, the college continues to serve as the region’s top trainer and re-trainer for high-demand careers. ACC students become the teachers, nurses, accountants, tradespeople, business owners, and more who power the Central Texas economy.

Over the years, the way we’ve served our students has evolved just as the challenges facing Central Texans have also changed. We know that students need more than classes and grades to succeed – they need a community in which they can take root and grow.

As our students have changed, so has our mission – to love our students to success.

“ACC is the glue that holds our community together. We are more than a college—we are a lifeline, a launchpad, and a place where people find hope and opportunity. We are creating a path to success and a family-sustaining wage. Our mission is simple: to love our students to success. That means showing up, breaking down barriers, and making sure every student has the support they need to reach their goals. When our students succeed, our entire community thrives.”  – Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, ACC Chancellor

Loving Our Students to Success

At ACC, we believe that every student deserves to be seen and supported as a whole individual. When students walk onto campus and into classrooms, our job is to make sure that they have everything they need to succeed, whether academically, physically, or emotionally.

What happens when we love our students to success? They graduate, transfer, earn family-sustaining wages, and become part of the growing Central Texas community.

ACC’s North Star: 70% completion by 2030

ACC will reach 70% student completion by 2030, meaning students will have achieved an associate degree, bachelor’s, certification, or successfully transfer to a four-year college or university. This is an ambitious goal that will improve the lives of Central Texans, close workforce gaps in our community, and support the career and education goals of our students.
