What is R.B. and Friends?

R.B. and Friends is a children’s television program created and produced by ACCTV, Austin Community College’s broadcast channel that airs throughout the district in Central Texas. The show explores ACC’s different areas of study and academic programs through experiments, demonstrations, and interviews with children, faculty, staff and more! It’s designed to help schools and families talk to young children about college and career options, specifically those available at community colleges, and to encourage kids early on that they can be anything they want to be. R.B. the Riverbat, hosts the show alongside Rachel, an ACC Student.

R.B. has represented ACC in local schools for over 10 years, working to engage students in conversations about ACC’s 100+ programs. The show expands upon this effort and allows students to take a deeper dive and learn more from area experts and faculty. R.B. and Friends is in its pilot season.Once pandemic restrictions are lifted, the potential for live student audiences and more participation is anticipated.
